Following an invitation to BHIVA members to attend a meeting on HIV commissioning on behalf of the Association the meeting was attended by some BHIVA members. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together members of the HIV Clinical Reference Group and Public Health England with specialist HIV clinicians, providers of HIV prevention and testing, local leaders in public health and sexual health commissioners to understand how HIV services will develop going forward.
The meeting provided an opportunity to explore issues and opportunities arising from the current challenges, including how to ensure linkages between commissioning for HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care, and identify recommended ways forward in 2014 and beyond.
