BHIVA Education Working Group

Purpose

The BHIVA Education Working Group (formerly the BHIVA E-Learning Working Group) develops modules for continuing professional development (CPD) based on published and approved BHIVA guidelines. The first module, based on the BHIVA guidelines for the treatment of HIV-1-infected adults with antiretroviral therapy 2008, was successfully launched in October 2010.

Since then, further modules have been developed based on BHIVA guidelines for the management of co-infection with HIV-1 and hepatitis viruses, treatment of TB/HIV coinfection, treatment of HIV-1 positive adults with antiretroviral therapy (updated), management of HIV infection in pregnant women, HIV-associated malignancies and multi-guideline CPD, using clinical scenarios.

All modules have been very well received and the average score is 80%, with 65% needed to pass. Further modules are planned.
