This module is based on the BHIVA guidelines on the use of vaccines in HIV-positive adults 2015.
Participants are expected to be familiar with or have read the British HIV Association guidelines British HIV Association guidelines on the use of vaccines in HIV-positive adults 2015. On completion of this module, participants will be able to describe, with reference to HIV-positive adults:
The general principles concerning vaccination
The indications and contraindications for administering vaccines, including the selective use of live vaccines
Geographical, occupational and other transmission risks of infectious diseases for which vaccines are available
The use of screening to identify suitable vaccine recipients
Vaccination and re-vaccination schedules for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis
