New clinical guidelines announced on 14 May by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state that healthcare providers should consider advising the use of oral antiretroviral therapy for HIV-uninfected patients who are at high risk for HIV infection. The guidelines, published in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, can be viewed here:
