BHIVA Community Registration Support
Community registration places are limited and will be allocated as fairly as possible, in principle on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of two registrations allocated per community group. The deadline to submit applications is 29 August 2008. To apply for a community registration place, please register online indicating that your application is a community registration under the first sub-heading. Alternatively, download a community registration form from the website and fax or postthis to the Conference Organiser. If your organisation is applying for the first time, please include a brief résumé of the aims and objectives of your organisation on headed paper. (Community Registration form )
BHIVA Registration Scholarships
BHIVA Registration Scholarships have been made available to assist delegates to attend the conference. Up to 20 awards will be available to doctors who are retired, not working, or employed in a part-time or equivalent capacity. In addition, students involved in full-time undergraduate or post-graduate work will also qualify for these awards. The scholarship will cover the conference registration fee. Please apply in writing to the Conference Organiser when submitting your registration form or alternatively register online. All applications must be received by 29 August 2008, and successful applicants will be notified week commencing 8 September 2008. (Registration Scholarship Form)
BRIAN GAZZARD LECTURESHIP IN HIV MEDICINE

Background
The lectureship has been set up in honour of the first Chair of the British HIV Association, Professor Brian Gazzard, and BHIVA will be inviting applications for this prestigious award at the BHIVA Autumn Conference.
Aims
To invite applicants of all grades, including those of senior grades, whether clinically or non-clinically qualified, to present a lecture in the field of HIV medicine that relates to the clinical management, pathogenesis or basic science of HIV infection. The winner of the award will be offered £1,000 as an honorarium and a contribution of £100 towards travel expenses.
Conditions
1. Candidates must be registered for the BHIVA Autumn Conference.
2. The subject of the lecture must be in the field of HIV medicine and may relate either to the clinical management, pathogenesis or basic science of HIV infection.
3. In the selection of the lecture, preference will be given to a lecture based on original work, but this need not be considered an absolute condition of the appointment.
4. Candidates will be asked to give written permission for their manuscripts to be copied, displayed on the Association’s website, sent out upon request to BHIVA members, and published in HIV Medicine.
5. All submissions must be received by 12 September 2008; no submissions will be reviewed prior to this date and no submissions will be accepted for review after the deadline has expired.
Applications will be assessed by a panel drawn from members of the BHIVA Executive Committee and the successful applicant will be announced at the BHIVA Autumn Conference.
Applications
1. Candidates should submit an abstract of approximately 600 words with slides. Abstracts must include methodology, results, conclusions, and be suitably referenced.
2. Submissions should be made, preferably by email, to: andy@mediscript.ltd.uk Submissions must be accompanied with a registration form and payment, or you must have previously registered.
3. The lecture should be suitable for presentation within 30 minutes: a maximum of 25 minutes for your lecture and a minimum of 5 minutes for questions and discussion.
