Following on from the British HIV Association (BHIVA) statement on Wales' failure to approve Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention that was released on Wednesday 26 April 2017, it has today been announced that the Health Secretary Vaughan Gething has announced an all-Wales study to provide the drug Truvada® to all those who would benefit from the preventative treatment.
The announcement follows the decision on Truvada® by the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group. The study will run for at least three years and will begin this summer.
