Introduction
Feedback
BHIVA has been delighted to be able to organise and facilitate three ‘Best of CROI’ Feedback Meetings in strategic locations around the UK in 2008.
These meetings, funded by BHIVA, have provided an independent, unbiased and impartial review of the key presentations held at the recent Conference of Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Boston at the beginning of February. An experienced working party was convened, made up primarily of BHIVA Executive Committee members, to review presentations and collate the most relevant slides and material for feedback to those working in the field of HIV medicine here in the UK.
The three Feedback Meetings were held, respectively, in Manchester at the Lowry Art Gallery and Theatre on Monday 18 February, London at the Royal College of Physicians on Wednesday 20 February and Edinburgh at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Thursday 21 February. Sessions were preceeded by some light refreshments and subsequently commenced at 1830. Sessions ran for two hours following which a buffet was served and delegates enjoyed time for networking and discussion.
Attendance at the Feedback Meetings was offered to all free of charge and the meetings attracted the following numbers:
Manchester: 77
London: 201
Edinburgh: 49
We very much hope that all in attendance benefited from the programme and enjoyed the social and networking aspects of the events.
Turn-out and feedback has been excellent and strongly indicates that these meetings have been highly valued and that delegates would like BHIVA to continue to organise and hold these meetings in the years to come.
