2010 Annual Report

Clinical Excellence awards are given to recognise and reward the exceptional contribution of NHS consultants for outstanding professional work, over and above that normally expected, to the values and goals of the NHS and to patient care. The BHIVA Awards Nominating Panel reviews the applications of UK-based consultant BHIVA members for Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum awards, preparing citations to support these where appropriate. Applications are ranked and scored based on an assessment of the consultant’s contribution to the field of HIV medicine; in particular those elements that exceed the requirements of their usual work.
